As part of the anti-ter­ror­ism week or­gan­ised by Navi Mum­bai po­lice, a rally was or­gan­ised in Nerul by the com­mu­nity in sup­port of the cam­paign.

Around 5,000 peo­ple par­tic­i­pated in the rally that be­gan from Nerul po­lice sta­tion and ended at DY Patil Au­di­to­rium.

“This was an ex­cel­lent ef­fort of the com­mu­nity to tell the world how strongly it feels on the is­sue. Ev­ery­one knows that ter­ror­ism has no re­li­gion and so it is nec­es­sary that ev­ery sec­tion of the so­ci­ety con­demn it and make it clear that it will not be sup­ported at any cost,” said po­lice com­mis­sioner Prab­hat Ran­jan.

“It is the duty of ev­ery ci­ti­zen, ir­re­spec­tive of his com­mu­nity, to in­form the po­lice of any sus­pi­cious ac­tiv­ity. We in­tend to pro­mote aware­ness on it,” said so­cial worker Af­sar Imam.
