OWNER KILLS TEN­ANT OVER PETTY IS­SUE

THANE: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death al­legedly by his house owner over a mi­nor is­sue, the po­lice said. The Thane po­lice PRO Ga­janan Kab­d­ule said Aahut Ya­dav lived in a chawl in Ra­bodi and was asked by the owner to va­cate the place, which Ya­dav was de­lay­ing. Last night, the owner’s son Satya Ba­hadur Singh vis­ited the vic­tim and picked up a quar­rel with him over va­cat­ing the room and in a fit of rage al­legedly at­tacked him with a knife, se­verely in­jur­ing the ten­ant. Ya­dav was rushed to a nearby hos­pi­tal but suc­cumbed to his wounds, the of­fi­cer said. A case has been lodged un­der IPC sec­tion 302 (mur­der) based on the com­plaint filed by younger brother of the vic­tim, who also lived in the chawl room. The ac­cused is still at large.
