The Kamothe po­lice reg­is­tered a case against one real es­tate de­vel­oper for al­legedly cheat­ing sev­eral peo­ple of ` 20 lakh promis­ing flats in a build­ing at Adai vil­lage in Pan­vel. The sus­pects had taken

` 3 to 5 lakh from each vic­tim and ran away with­out hand­ing over the flats.

OC­TO­BER 7, 2015:

Kopar Khairane po­lice booked five per­sons who cheated over 30 peo­ple to tune of ` 5 crore promis­ing flats in an un­der-con­struc­tion build­ing.

APRIL 13, 2015:

Kamothe po­lice ar­rested 35-year-old Roopesh Kaun­gade and two of his ac­com­plices for cheat­ing around 35 peo­ple of ` 2 crore by promis­ing them flats. They would tell peo­ple that he had started sev­eral projects in Navi Mum­bai, Sukha­pur, Kar­jat and other places of Raigad and flats are cheaper.

MARCH 27, 2015:

Kharghar po­lice ar­rested Dhani­ram Pawar, 45, for cheat­ing peo­ple of around ` 30 lakh by promis­ing flats in a hous­ing so­ci­ety de­vel­oped by Cidco. His 36-year-old driver was also ar­rested a day later.
