Acting on a tip-off, the police sent the team to Surat last week and they managed to arrest six people involved in the crime. The team also recovered wires along with the trailer.
The arrested people have been i dentified as Manoj Kumar Sharma, 52, a resident of Rajasthan, Prakash Vora, 47, a resident of Rajasthan, Raju Shukla, 39, Vinod Tiwari, 26, Arun Kumar Chuabe, 40, and Pradeep Shukla, 36, all residents of Uttar Pradesh.
The main accused and the drive of the trailer are still absconding.
“The suspects kept the wires at a deserted place in Surat. They were planning to sell those to some other companies in Delhi. However, our team reached the spot before they could execute that plan,” the officer said.
