Rent will be charged yearly on the basis of ready reckoner rate of the area where the digging is to take place taking into account the area covered and FSI in the region. Tenders will be called to allot the spaces available and the right of the region will be given to the highest bidding individual or company
If competitive bidding is not possible while giving out areas for public utility services, permission will be given after adding 25% to the base price of the region that is arrived at through the ready reckoner rate.
The NMMC will keep three times the annual rent as security deposit and the permission tenure will be for 30 years.
In case an individual or company with or without NMMC permission undertakes digging in the area and there is damage to the transmission lines leading to loss of public property or human life, the responsibility will lie solely with the company that has been awarded the area. Hence, it should ensure proper security system in the area.
The company will be responsible for losses due to mishaps and natural disaster in cables and pipelines laid in the area allotted to it.
