Rent will be charged yearly on the ba­sis of ready reckoner rate of the area where the dig­ging is to take place tak­ing into ac­count the area cov­ered and FSI in the re­gion. Ten­ders will be called to al­lot the spa­ces avail­able and the right of the re­gion will be given to the high­est bid­ding in­di­vid­ual or com­pany

If com­pet­i­tive bid­ding is not pos­si­ble while giv­ing out ar­eas for pub­lic util­ity ser­vices, per­mis­sion will be given af­ter adding 25% to the base price of the re­gion that is ar­rived at through the ready reckoner rate.

The NMMC will keep three times the an­nual rent as se­cu­rity de­posit and the per­mis­sion ten­ure will be for 30 years.

In case an in­di­vid­ual or com­pany with or with­out NMMC per­mis­sion un­der­takes dig­ging in the area and there is dam­age to the trans­mis­sion lines lead­ing to loss of pub­lic prop­erty or hu­man life, the re­spon­si­bil­ity will lie solely with the com­pany that has been awarded the area. Hence, it should en­sure proper se­cu­rity sys­tem in the area.

The com­pany will be re­spon­si­ble for losses due to mishaps and nat­u­ral disas­ter in cables and pipe­lines laid in the area al­lot­ted to it.
