City art gallery to celebrate talented women artists
The city’s first contemporary ar t g all ery Shaurya arts will be celebrating this Women’s Day with a difference.
The art gallery has organised an event ‘ W for Women’ which will be a painting exhibition of 16 women artists across Navi Mumbai.
Inner Club of Bayside, Navi Mumbai is co- organising the event which will be held from March 8 to March 30.
This is the first time that they are going to hold an allwomen artists exhibition.
“Through this exhibitioncum- sale, we are aiming to give a platform to all the women artists which will bring out the spectrum of potentiality in them and present it to the public,” said Rasana Bhardwaj, art curator, Shaurya arts gallery.
Panvel resident Smitha Singh, 50, will have her paintings exhibited for the first time. “My paintings are mostly based on murals. However, for the exhibition I am doing colour pencil work on images of women,” said the artist.
The art gallery has also organised a workshop session on March 12 and 13.
