PAN­VEL GAR­MENT STORE ROBBED OF ` 2.5 LAKH

A gar­ment store at Pan­vel was bro­ken into on Fri­day and clothes and Rs2.5 lakh cash miss­ing on Fri­day. How­ever, even af­ter two days, the po­lice have not been able to find any clue about the cul­prits.

The po­lice said the ac­cused en­tered Prince Col­lec­tion by break­ing the lock at the main en­trance. Within a few min­utes, they stole the cash and fled. The owner, Ram­lal Chaud­hary, came to know about the theft when he came to the shop around 7.30am.

“Some traders told us that the locks were in­tact even af­ter mid­night. We think the cul­prits had planned the crime and were wait­ing for the right time to loot the shop. Some peo­ple from the same neigh­bour­hood could also be in­volved in the crime,” said a po­lice of­fi­cer from Pan­vel city po­lice sta­tion.

“A case un­der sec­tion 454, 457 and 34 of the In­dian Pe­nal Code has been reg­is­tered,” he said.
