Swedish youth robbed on train to Mumbai
A 21-year-old Swedish national was robbed of his bag while he was travelling from Karnataka to Mumbai on Sunday. The foreign national identified as Grim Ralf Bergmann, a resident of Sundsvall in Sweden, was on a six-month trip to India and had boarded a long-distance train from Karwar in Karnataka on March 4.
When he got down in Mumbai, Bergmann figured that his baggage, which had his mobile phone, passport, visa, documents, clothes and Rs26,000 was missing. The Swedish national panicked and he was directed to a beat chowky of Kurla police station. But Bergmann lost his way near the station area, and in panic, started weeping. A constable who saw Bergmann took him to the beat chowky of Kurla police station.
Bergmann could not recollect the train he travelled in, but told police officers that after he boarded the train he kept his bigger bag below the seat, and used his smaller hand bag as a headrest.
