NMMC general body hikes annual budget by ` 36.75 crore
The general body of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation ( NMMC) has after two days of discussion approved the civic budget 2016-17 with a Rs 36.75 crore hike. The budget now is Rs 2024.10 crore.
The general body has also hiked the revised 2015-16 budget presented by the municipal commissioner by Rs22.50 crore. The revised income figure now stands at Rs 1877.02 crore (revenue and capital) and the revised expense figure ( revenue and capital) is now Rs 1801.40 crore with a surplus of Rs 75.62 crore.
Municipal commissioner Dinesh Waghmare had on February 15, presented a Rs 1975.85 crore budget of NMMC for the financial year 2016-17.
The standing committee increased the income figure by Rs11.5 crore to Rs 1987.35 crore. Mayor Sudhakar Sonawane said, “Following two days of discussions during which received suggestions from 56 members, we approved the revised budget and also the proposed budget with a Rs36.75 crore hike.”
