NMMC gen­eral body hikes an­nual bud­get by ` 36.75 crore

The gen­eral body of Navi Mum­bai Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion ( NMMC) has af­ter two days of dis­cus­sion ap­proved the civic bud­get 2016-17 with a Rs 36.75 crore hike. The bud­get now is Rs 2024.10 crore.

The gen­eral body has also hiked the re­vised 2015-16 bud­get pre­sented by the mu­nic­i­pal com­mis­sioner by Rs22.50 crore. The re­vised in­come fig­ure now stands at Rs 1877.02 crore (rev­enue and cap­i­tal) and the re­vised ex­pense fig­ure ( rev­enue and cap­i­tal) is now Rs 1801.40 crore with a sur­plus of Rs 75.62 crore.

Mu­nic­i­pal com­mis­sioner Di­nesh Waghmare had on Fe­bru­ary 15, pre­sented a Rs 1975.85 crore bud­get of NMMC for the fi­nan­cial year 2016-17.

The stand­ing com­mit­tee in­creased the in­come fig­ure by Rs11.5 crore to Rs 1987.35 crore. Mayor Sud­hakar Son­awane said, “Fol­low­ing two days of dis­cus­sions dur­ing which re­ceived sug­ges­tions from 56 mem­bers, we ap­proved the re­vised bud­get and also the pro­posed bud­get with a Rs36.75 crore hike.”
