NOT ENOUGH POLICEMEN
Navi Mumbai special branch, responsible for guarding a coastline, has 77 officers including 15 assistant and sub-inspectors and 62 constables and drivers.
Earlier, the police had only 230 volunteers to assist them in safeguarding the coastline.
Now, the number of volunteers has increased to 550. The length of the Navi Mumbai coastline is 104 kilometre. While 60kms are surrounded by the Arabian Sea, the rest 44kms are along creeks.
