Miscreants burn parked auto, car in Kalyan

Miscreants burnt an autorickshaw parked on the road at Khadakpada in the wee hours of Saturday.

A Wagon R, which was parked behind the autorickshaw, too, was charred. The car belonged to an employee of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, Ashok Giri.

Bhagwan Nikam had parked his autorickshaw near West region RTO, Sahyadri, like he does every night.

Around 3am, some unknown people set the autorickshaw on fire. The fire was so huge that another the car parked behind the auto was also charred.

Although residents alerted Nikam and his family, by the time they rush to the spot, the autorickshaw was completedly burnt. A police officer from Khadakpada police station said: “We have make a note of it and that we have not registered a case. We have noted that some unknown person set the autorickshaw on fire. Further probe is on.”
