1,300 women avail free cancer screening
RABALE: More than 1,300 women were screened for cancer at a health mela earlier this week. By the end of the day, 1,189 consultations and over 800 investigations had been carried out, including screening tests for oral, cervical and breast cancer.
The multi- speciality health camp was held at Rajshree Shahu Maharaj School in Rab ale. The Health Mel a brought the curtains down on the series of events organised by Reliance Foundation to mark International Women’s Day.
The women were provided a ‘Reliance Family Health Card’.
The schoolchildren performed a skit to promote hygiene.
“I am happy to be here where all the tests and treatments are available under one roof,” said Tirumala Nair.
Suchitra Jamwal, who came along with her daughter, said the visit had benefited both of them by providing them specialists’ advice.
Hema Khemkar, a 45-year-old lady summed up the feelings of the participants, “We are guided to our respective speciality sections.”
