1,300 women avail free can­cer screen­ing

RA­BALE: More than 1,300 women were screened for can­cer at a health mela ear­lier this week. By the end of the day, 1,189 con­sul­ta­tions and over 800 in­ves­ti­ga­tions had been car­ried out, in­clud­ing screen­ing tests for oral, cer­vi­cal and breast can­cer.

The multi- spe­cial­ity health camp was held at Ra­jshree Shahu Ma­haraj School in Rab ale. The Health Mel a brought the cur­tains down on the se­ries of events or­gan­ised by Re­liance Foun­da­tion to mark In­ter­na­tional Women’s Day.

The women were pro­vided a ‘Re­liance Fam­ily Health Card’.

The school­child­ren per­formed a skit to pro­mote hygiene.

“I am happy to be here where all the tests and treat­ments are avail­able un­der one roof,” said Tiru­mala Nair.

Su­chi­tra Jamwal, who came along with her daugh­ter, said the visit had ben­e­fited both of them by pro­vid­ing them spe­cial­ists’ ad­vice.

Hema Khemkar, a 45-year-old lady summed up the feel­ings of the par­tic­i­pants, “We are guided to our re­spec­tive spe­cial­ity sec­tions.”
