“As the complainant was trying to avoid him, the accused grabbed her hand and then touched her inappropriately. He forcefully hugged her in front of everyone,” said a police officer from Khandeshwar police station.

The woman’s colleague was walking ahead of her. “As she started shouting for help, her colleague and some other people chased the accused. They caught him at a distance and later handed him over to the police,” the officer said.

The police ar rested t he accused under section 354 and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He has been identified as Shankar Paswan, and he lives in a nearby slum.

The woman later told police, that this was the same man who had molested her on February 1. Then, she had pelted a stone at him. But, she did not file a complaint as she was too scared.

“The accused is now in our custody. We are probing if he has molested other women. So far, we have not found any criminal record against him,” another police officer said.
