AIROLI: A 14- year- old boy, his 35- year- old mother and his 21- year- old cousin were al­legedly beaten up by a man, his class­mate’s father.

The two boys, both study in Class 9, re­port­edly had a tiff in school. The po­lice have reg­is­tered a non-cog­nis­able case against the ac­cused, who is re­port­edly an of­fice-bearer of a political party.

The stu­dents live in a chawl near Nocil Naka. The boy, who was beaten up, said, “On Wed­nes­day, Prakash ( name changed) used foul lan­guage. I in­formed our teacher about it and Prakash’s father was called to the school.”

He said t hat t his up­set Prakash. “On Thurs­day, he con­fronted me near our house and soon there was a fight be­tween us,” he said.

His mother said: “Prakash’s father came with 4-5 peo­ple and as­saulted us. They hit us with wooden planks.”

She added that even her niece, who is to be mar­ried soon, was not spared and she was dragged and beaten up.

Prakash’s father has de­nied the al­le­ga­tions. Deputy com­mis­sioner of po­lice (zone I) Shahji Umap said: “An non-cog­nis­able of­fence has been reg­is­tered at Ra­bale po­lice sta­tion. We will in­ves­ti­gate to find out the truth.”
