NCP backs Bhujbal; more trouble ahead?
MUMBAI: In a clear message of support from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), party chief Sharad Pawar’s daughter and MP Supriya Sule visited Chhagan Bhujbal in the Arthur Road jail on Saturday.
When the state’s former deputy CM was arrested last Monday in connection with a money laundering case in the Maharashtra Sadan scam, the NCP alleged vendetta politics by the BJP-led government. But, there could be more trouble for Bhujbal, as the state ACB has said it will file a charge sheet against him and five other officials this month in the 2009 Kalina land case — where
Bhujbal allegedly allotted a portion of a plot to a developer for 99 years at a low Re1 per sqm Sources said the charge sheet focuses on documentary evidence.
