90 va­can­cies in Navi Mum­bai po­lice, 14K ap­ply

A to­tal of 14,033 ap­pli­ca­tions have been re­ceived for just 90 va­can­cies that have to be filled in Navi Mum­bai po­lice com­mis­sion­er­ate.

Can­di­dates who have ap­plied for po­lice jobs will un­dergo doc­u­ment ver­i­fi­ca­tion and phys­i­cal tests on March 29. There­after, fur­ther process of po­lice re­cruit­ment will be­gin.

Un­der the po­lice re­cruit­ment cur­rently on in the state, Navi Mum­bai po­lice too is con­duct­ing re­cruit­ment process to fill up its va­cant posts.

Deputy com­mis­sioner of po­lice (head­quar­ters) Prashant Khaire said, “There are 78 posts on of­fer in the po­lice com­mis­sion­er­ate and 12 for the jail. A to­tal of 14,033 can­di­dates have ap­plied for the va­can­cies.”

Ear­lier, those in­ter­ested were given time upto Fe­bru­ary 20 to ap­ply.

Till that time, Navi Mum­bai po­lice com­mis­sion­er­ate had re­ceived 12,200 on­line ap­pli­ca­tions. How­ever, since a num­ber of hope­fuls couldn’t ap­ply in the des­ig­nated time, the dead­line was ex­tended by a fur­ther 15 days, till March 4.

The ex­tended time led to 1,833 more ap­pli­ca­tions.

Khaire said, “We will ver­ify the doc­u­ments of the ap­pli­cants and also con­duct their phys­i­cal test on March 29 at the po­lice head­quar­ters ground in Kalam­boli.”
