Truck driver injured after crashing into divider in Thane

THANE: A truck driver lost control of his vehicle while he was trying to overtake a private bus on Ghodbunder Road on Saturday.

The truck crashed into the bridge’s divider and overturned. The 22- year- old truck driver, Anil Harihar Kashiar,

and a woman passenger, Meena Parmar, were injured.

Parmar, 29, was coming to Thane from Gujarat.

Kashiar was coming from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust towards Thane. The accident happened near Sanman Hotel. As the truck lost control, it hit the private bus in front of it.

A police officer from Thane’s traffic department said: “The

truck was speeding. The driver was driving at 80km per hour. Both the injured were taken to Thane civil hospital. The woman was sent home after first aid.”

A police constable f rom Kapurbawdi police station said, “We have taken the driver’s statement. The woman is a Thane resident while the driver is a Nhava Sheva resident.”
