Truck driver in­jured af­ter crash­ing into di­vider in Thane

THANE: A truck driver lost con­trol of his ve­hi­cle while he was try­ing to over­take a pri­vate bus on Ghod­bun­der Road on Satur­day.

The truck crashed into the bridge’s di­vider and over­turned. The 22- year- old truck driver, Anil Har­i­har Kashiar,

and a woman pas­sen­ger, Meena Par­mar, were in­jured.

Par­mar, 29, was com­ing to Thane from Gu­jarat.

Kashiar was com­ing from Jawa­har­lal Nehru Port Trust to­wards Thane. The ac­ci­dent hap­pened near San­man Ho­tel. As the truck lost con­trol, it hit the pri­vate bus in front of it.

A police of­fi­cer from Thane’s traf­fic depart­ment said: “The

truck was speed­ing. The driver was driv­ing at 80km per hour. Both the in­jured were taken to Thane civil hospital. The woman was sent home af­ter first aid.”

A police con­sta­ble f rom Ka­pur­bawdi police sta­tion said, “We have taken the driver’s state­ment. The woman is a Thane res­i­dent while the driver is a Nhava Sheva res­i­dent.”


The truck top­pled on Ghod­bun­der Road af­ter the driver lost con­trol on Satur­day.
