NAVI MUM­BAI: Se­nior police in­spec­tor of crime branch KR Po­pre had re­ceived a tip-off that a per­son would be com­ing to sell a coun­try made re­volver near Pu­rusharth petrol pump in Kalam­boli. A trap was laid in the area. While the police lay in wait­ing all day, the per­son who fit­ted the de­scrip­tion came around 5 pm. He had a black bag and was mov­ing around in a sus­pi­cious man­ner. Ac­cord­ing to police com­mis­sioner Prab­hat Ran­jan, “Fol­low­ing in­quiries by the police team, the man tried to es­cape but was nabbed by the police per­son­nel.” He added, “His body search led to the seizure of two coun­try made sin­gle bar­rel iron re­volvers worth Rs 50,000.” The ac­cused who has been ar­rested has been iden­ti­fied as Su­raj Singh (23), a res­i­dent of Mevpur taluka in Sul­tan­pur dis­trict of Ut­tar Pradesh.
