TWO COUNTRY REVOLVERS SEIZED FROM UP RESIDENT
NAVI MUMBAI: Senior police inspector of crime branch KR Popre had received a tip-off that a person would be coming to sell a country made revolver near Purusharth petrol pump in Kalamboli. A trap was laid in the area. While the police lay in waiting all day, the person who fitted the description came around 5 pm. He had a black bag and was moving around in a suspicious manner. According to police commissioner Prabhat Ranjan, “Following inquiries by the police team, the man tried to escape but was nabbed by the police personnel.” He added, “His body search led to the seizure of two country made single barrel iron revolvers worth Rs 50,000.” The accused who has been arrested has been identified as Suraj Singh (23), a resident of Mevpur taluka in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
