Eight bikes stolen from across the state seized, 3 arrested
CBD BELAPUR: The Kalamboli police this week arrested three people who have stolen motorcycles from various cities in the state. They have recovered eight bikes from them.
Following recent incidents of bike thefts in the city, the Kalamboli police led by senior police inspector KR Popere had been on alert. Recently, the police arrested Adil Pathan, 19, a resident of Sector 2E in Kalamboli while he was moving about in a suspicious manner near Sector 4E garden of Kalamboli.
According to police commissioner Prabhat Ranjan, “He confessed to having stolen bikes. We then recovered two such bikes worth Rs70,000 from him.”
He added, “One of the bikes, Honda Leo had been stolen in Kalamboli. Another Hero Honda Splendour Plus bike had been stolen from Satara. Its number plate had been changed.”
In another instance, foll owing a tip- of f, the crime branch officers and personnel of the police station arrested Amardeep Kevat, 23, a resident of Roadpali in Kalamboli and Jigar Chandarana, 19, of Sector 1 in Kalamboli.
Ranjan said, “The duo confessed to having stolen a Bajaj Platini 124cc bike and two Hero Honda Splendours from Kalamboli, a Honda Shine motor cycle from Govandi, a Bajaj Discover from Shahapur, and a Bajaj CT 100 from Thane.”
Ranjan added, “Six bikes worth Rs90,000 have been recovered from them.”
