Survey before PAP homes are regularised
RELIEF FOR 20K HOUSES HC has said impact assessment is a must before regularisation: CM
CBD BELAPUR: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis announcement on Thursday in the assembly has given relief to 20,000 houses.
He said that project-affected people’s need-based houses built before 2012 will be regularised soon through a government resolution.
He said the 200-metre boundary limit of Navi Mumbai villages will be decided in consultation with the villagers.
Making the announcement in the assembly, Fadnavis said, “Following regular follow-ups on the issue, we had earlier decided to regularise the needbased houses built before 2012 and informed the court accordingly. The high court had taken note of it but stated that houses built after 2012 should not be regularised.”
He added, “The high court told us that regularisation cannot be done until an impact assessment is undertaken of the region. Work on it has begun and we are expecting the report in 15 days. We will then be able to issue a GR on the issue and will also inform the high court about it.”
Fadnavis said that they would instruct Cidco that no action should be taken against build- ings constructed before 2012.
On the controversial 200- m boundary issue of villages, the chief minister said, “Cidco has worked out the boundary limits, but only Cidco deciding on it won’t work. The local villagers need to be taken into confidence otherwise the problem will not be resolved.”
The CM said that they would be talking to villagers before issuing the GR for regularization and that Cidco would take their suggestions and objections and only then will the limits be finalized.
Fadnavis said: “The survey of the villages is necessary but the residents did not allow it earlier. They fear that their houses will be demolished if the survey is done. We have asked Cidco to appoint an agency for the purpose. Once the GR is issued and the boundary issue finalised, we will start the survey.”
