Pach­vad­pada, near Kasar­wa­davli, 3 kms from Ghod­bun­der Road, are fac­ing the worst wa­ter crisis.

The small vil­lage has 75 houses and 125 res­i­dents near the Yeoor foothills, be­hind Haware city in Kasar­wa­davli. The vil­lagers do not re­ceive a drop of wa­ter from the Thane Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion. “We dig five to six-feet deep trenches along the stream and man­age to fill one or two pots of wa­ter,” said San­tosh Gavit, 30, who has five mem­bers to look af­ter. The stream used to flow from the for­est to the vil­lage which pro­vided wa­ter till Jan­uary as the vil­lagers had har­vested rain wa­ter in the stream through small dams. How­ever, the stream too dried in Fe­bru­ary. TMC stopped the tanker wa­ter sup­ply to the vil­lage af­ter the crisis wors­ensed
