BOMBAY HIGH COURT TALKS TOUGH

Hindustan Times ST (Mumbai) - HT Navi Mumbai Live - - FRONT PAGE -

ON BCCI AND IPL FRANCHISES

“We had expected the BCCI and the teams to come forward and voluntarily suggest shifting the matches out. However, despite being granted several chances by the court, the respondents [BCCI and franchises] unfortunately did not take any such decision. This leaves us with no choice but to interfere.”

ON STATE GOVERNMENT

“On one hand the state government filed an affidavit in court stating that it had no qualms if the IPL was shifted out of Maharashtra. However, on the other hand, it acts as a mute spectator… It is apparent that despite its stand in the affidavit, the state government does not want the matches to be shifted out.”
