MUMBAI: India asked BRICS countries to come together to combat terrorism, calling it a major global concern. Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu said for economic prosperity and development in this part of the globe, the entire world must join hands to fight terror.

Naidu was speaking at the inaugural function of the threeday BRICS Friendship Cities Conclave 2016, at a Mumbai hotel. The minister said western countries too have realised the threat of terror and are willing to unite to combat it. He said the world should come together to crush terrorism, which has no relation to any religion. As BRICS countries

are home to a major part of the population, in the absence of peace, steady growth will not be possible, Naidu said.
