14-YR- OLD, TU­TOR DEAD AS DRIV­ING LES­SON TURNS FA­TAL IN MUM­BAI

MUM­BAI: A driv­ing les­son in­volv­ing a mi­nor turned into tragedy after a car fell from a sec­ond­floor park­ing lot at Nag­pada on Wed­nes­day. The 14-year-old boy, who was be­ing taught by his fam­ily’s driver, ac­ci­den­tally stepped on the accelerator, and drove his fa­ther’s Toy­ota Etios into the build­ing’s lift shaft. The car came crash­ing down, killing the two in­stantly. Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, Mo­ham­mad Hafiz Pa­tel was be­ing taught the ba­sics of driv­ing by Mo­ham­mad Javed, 32, around noon at Iqbal Height at Madan­pura. An of­fi­cer from the Nag­pada po­lice sta­tion said, “The duo were taken to Wock­hardt Hos­pi­tal, but both were de­clared dead be­fore ad­mis­sion.” The po­lice have reg­is­tered an ac­ci­den­tal death re­port.
