Drunk driver runs over 74-year-old at Vile Parle
MUMBAI: A drink-driving accident killed a 74-year-old man at Vile Parle (East) on Friday. The senior citizen, who was on his morning walk, was hit by a speeding Santro. The driver has been arrested.
The police said Prakash Vaikar was on his morning walk around 6.30am on Tejpal scheme road, when he was knocked down by the car driven by Kailash Sati, 37. Vaikar suffered a head injury and was rushed to Cooper hospital, where he was declared dead.
Sati, who works as a driver, was taken to VN Desai Hospital for a medical test where he was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
