BANGLADESHI PROF HACKED TO DEATH BY IS­LAMIC STATE

A lib­eral univer­sity pro­fes­sor on way to work in north­west­ern Bangladesh was on Satur­day hacked to death by ma­chete-wield­ing ISIS mil­i­tants near his home, the lat­est in a se­ries of sim­i­lar at­tacks on in­tel­lec­tu­als and blog­gers by the dreaded group in the Mus­lim­ma­jor­ity country. Ra­jshahi Univer­sity pro­fes­sor AFM Rezaul Karim Sid­diquee, 58, was at­tacked by mo­tor­bike-borne as­sailants, who slit his throat us­ing sharp weapons and left him to die, po­lice said.
