Cidco is my first love, says out­go­ing MD Sanjay Bha­tia

The out­go­ing vice-chair­man and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Cidco Sanjay Bha­tia, on Mon­day said the cor­po­ra­tion was his “first love and will al­ways be” and ex­uded con­fi­dence that his suc­ces­sor, Bhushan Gagrani, will con­tinue the good work.

“Cidco is my first love and will al­ways be. I played a role of a cat­a­lyst not a leader. And I am con­fi­dent that the new man­ag­ing di­rec­tor shall ef­fi­ciently take Cidco to greater heights and soon we will see em­i­nent projects on a run,” Bha­tia said at a first-ever farewell pro­gramme or­gan­ised at Cidco Bha­van on Mon­day.

Prais­ing his pre­de­ces­sor, Gagrani, who was fe­lic­i­tated with shawl, said, “Sanjay Bha­tia has al­ways pro­posed in­sight­ful think­ing. In all his de­ci­sions so far, he has in­cluded cit­i­zens and their ben­e­fits. He has given a hu­man face to Cidco.”

Bha­tia, who took charge of the Cidco (City and In­dus­trial Devel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion) on March 4, 2013, was re­spon­si­ble for spe­cial projects like Navi Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port (NMIA) and Navi Mum­bai Air­port In­flu­ence No­ti­fied Area (NAINA).

His ini­tia­tives for trans­parency also laid a solid foun­da­tion for cor­rup­tion-free and cit­i­zen-cen­tric gover­nance in the cor­po­ra­tion.

“I have worked on the things which peo­ple and of­fi­cers were keen to bring in the so­ci­ety.

Cidco em­ploy­ees also shared their experience and praised Bha­tia’s lead­er­ship.

Joint man­ag­ing direc­tors V Radha and RR Cha­van, chief vig­i­lance of­fi­cer, Dr Prad­nya Sar­avade, and chair­man of Cidco Em­ploy­ees Union, Nilesh Tan­del, were also present for the pro­gramme.

Sanjay Bha­tia said at his farewell pro­gramme or­gan­ised at Cidco Bha­van on Mon­day.
