The official said, “It has been learnt that only Rs27 crore will now be given instead of Rs54 crore. The PMC now faces a herculean task of getting the remaining Rs27 crore and other funds to ensure the project materialises.”

“The Rs54 crore were to be spent on constructing a bus depot and purchasing mini, midi and standard buses for the service. The PMC was also going to contribute towards the cost,” said the official, adding, “The PMC had appointed Delhi-based UMTC as a consultant. Thereafter, the government at the Centre changed.”
