BJP changing colour like a chameleon: Sena
The Shiv Sena has called the BJP-led government at the Centre a ‘chameleon’ for allowing Hurriyat Conference leaders in Kashmir meet the Pakistan envoy.
Sena’s attack on the Centre comes after Union minister of state for external affairs VK Singh said in Parliament last week that Hurriyat leaders were Indian citizens and there is no ban on them meeting an envoy.
The Sena, wasting no opportunity to hit out at its ally, accused the Centre of trying to appease the Hurriyat. In an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamna, the Sena said the Centre’s action conveyed that “Afzal Guru was no longer a terrorist” and the “Hurriyat have become messengers of the Sangh Parivar”.
“The Hurriyat is a separatist group that is anti-India and proPakistan. But now, the Centre is making them sit on their lap and taking care of them,” the editorial reads. >> CONTINUED ON P10
