Three youths held from Bhi­wandi for steal­ing bikes

BHI­WANDI: Three youths were ar­rested a week ago when they were about to sell the two-wheeler which they had stolen. The ac­cused have been iden­ti­fied as Adil Ab­dul Hamid An­sari, 21, Ab­dul Rahim Ab­dul Qayum, 26, and Javed Takih Khan, 28.

All are Bhi­wandi res­i­dents. The anti-chain snatch­ing team got a tip-off and they formed a team to ar­rest the ac­cused. The trio was about to come to sell the bike Khandu­pada area when they were caught.

A po­lice of­fi­cer from the anti- chain snatch­ing squad said: “The ac­cused are his­to­rysheeters and they have many cases of bike thefts, house breakins and oth­ers.”

“We have seized more than 11 bikes and we came to know that the trio was in­volved in a house break- in. All the three ac­cused do odd jobs and they are school dropouts. We have re­cov­ered more than Rs4 lakh cash from the ac­cused,” said the po­lice of­fi­cer.
