NCP, CONGRESS DENY SENDING MESSAGE AGAINST CIVIC CHIEF
CBD BELAPUR: Leader of the house in NMMC and senior NCP leader Jaywant Sutar has denied that he had sent a message that has gone viral in the social media.
The message says that the NCP and the Congress planned to introduce a noconfidence motion against the new municipal commissioner Tukaram Munde. The Congress, too, has denied any such plans.
Several residents received forwarded messages on their phone on Thursday saying the NCP and the Congress corporators were upset over the disrespect shown to their leaders. They would introduce a no-confidence resolution in the next general body for the transfer of Munde.
“I have no idea of the functioning and working style of the new commissioner. We will meet in the general body and there things will be clear,” said Sutar.
He added, “I have not sent these messages. I will file criminal complaint in this regard to find out who has played the mischief.”
Mayor Sudhakar Sonanwane said, “I am representing the ruling party and I have no knowledge of any such resolution being planned. It is being done by vested interests.”
The Congress too dismissed the messages. Sudhir Pawar, secretary, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress said, “This is an attempt to malign the Congress. We have had no such discussions over transferring the civic chief.”
