COW SLAUGHTER NOT INTEGRAL TO ISLAM, RULES HC
MUMBAI: A plea challenging the complete ban on cow, bull and bullock slaughter in the state, on the ground that it violates religious rights of Muslims, was turned down by the Bombay HC.
The division bench of justice Abhay Oka and justice SC Gupte turned down the contention saying, “A practice followed may be a religious practice. But, if it is not an essential or integral part of the religion, it is not protected by Article 25 of the Constitution.”
