Parik­shit Joshi, a res­i­dent of Airoli, “Ak­shaya Tri­tiya is one of the most aus­pi­cious days of the year. Peo­ple or­gan­ise Gane­sha and Lak­shmi pooja, and wor­ship Lord Vishnu es­pe­cially on this day to get bet­ter health and wealth. This day is con­sid­ered aus­pi­cious for new events like wed­dings, in­au­gu­ra­tions and so on.”

“Many peo­ple look for the

shubh muhu­rat, which is for a cer­tain pe­riod of time dur­ing this day for gana and nav­a­graha homa, and Shanti mantras,” Joshi said

As it is con­sid­ered an

aus­pi­cious day for pur­chas­ing gold, usu­ally the price of gold shoots up on the day.
