BUILDERS PLAN MORCHA TO CIDCO
The developers in the city are planning a massive morcha to CIDCO alleging delays in clearances of their projects. The decision comes in the aftermath of the suicide by leading developer Raj Kandhari of Swaraj Group.
While the police have said that prima facie Kandhari was under financial stress, the developers say that the stress is being caused by delay in projects caused by CIDCO that has resulted in losses of crores of rupees to the developers.
Kandhari’s funeral was held Wednesday evening. The developers wore back bands at the funeral as a mark of protest.
Said MCHI secretary, Manohar Shroff, “The developers in the city are frustrated with the policies of CIDCO management.
Huge investments have been made in projects which are not being cleared. The developers have to pay interest on loan, answer the investors and also those who have bought the homes.” He informed, “We have decided to protest inaction by CIDCO and hence have decided on a morcha to CIDCO Bhavan on May 20.”
He added, “We will ensure that all the developers in the city join us in our protest. We will show our unity to the authorities and send a strong message to them.”
Stated Shroff, “We will give details of our plan of action at a press conference in Vashi.”
