CONG SAYS VOTING AGAINST ITS DECISION
The Congress leadership in Navi Mumbai has denied that the cross voting has been done at its behest. It has blamed a former corporator and state office bearer Santosh Shetty for the cross voting. Mira Patil is a close associate of Shetty.
According to city Congress president Dashrath Bhagat, “There were no directions either from the state leadership or us to the Congress corporator to vote for the Shiv Sena candidate. She was asked to vote for the NCP candidate. This has been done against our policy decision.”
He added, “The voting by Patil is due to the directions of Shetty who has worked against the party interest. Action will be taken against both.” Shetty was not available for comment.
