Complete pre-monsoon work by May 25: Radha
CBD BELAPUR: Cidco joint managing director V Radha, who has the charge of Navi Mumbai municipal commissioner as the present incumbent Tukaram Munde is on leave, has directed the civic officials to ensure coordination between various agencies during the monsoon.
She has also ordered that all pre-monsoon work be completed by May 25.
Radha held a special meeting of the officials on Thursday to take stock of the pre-monsoon work and the measures to be taken in emergencies during the monsoon.
Radha instructed that premonsoon works like nullah and gutter cleaning, stopping of digging of roads and their levelling be completed by May 25.
Deputy municipal commissioner Jagannath Sinnarkar said, “Since the deluge in 2005, the NMMC has been preparing a detailed disaster management soon and follows it strictly. A similar plan will be prepared this year as well. The civic body will publish two booklets detailing the disaster management plan along with the contact numbers of agencies and NGOs, in-charge of various responses ” aster management committee headed by municipal commissioner Tukaram Munde has been formed. It includes representatives from city’s government and semi-government departments.”
Adequate supplies of medibat outbreak of any disease or epidemic. A massive awareness campaign too will be undertaken to ensure that the residents take precautions.
Sinnarkar said, “The commissioner has asked officials concerned to take necessary ters like flood, land slide during monsoon season and coordinate with each other to minimise the impact of such disasters.
