VASHI: The Vashi police held a meeting with senior citizens and women on Wednesday to create awareness on Maharashtra police mobile app ‘Pratisad’ and general security. The mobile application is for emergency response.

The meeting held at Vashi police station was called by senior police inspector of Vashi police station Ajaykumar Landge.

“Maharashtra Police has developed a mobile app ‘Pratisad’ for senior citizens, women and anyone who needs help in emergency within the state. The users need to store the mobile phone numbers of their close friends and relatives and also their local police station,” said Landge.

He said, “Whenever someone needs help in emergency, all they have to do is open this App and touch the red coloured ‘Social Emergency’ button. While the relatives and friends in the profile will get the message, 10 police officials of a police station within 3-km range of the individual will also get instant messages. A message will also go to the police control room.”
