30-year-old man ar­rested for rap­ing mi­nor girl in Dom­bivli day-care cen­tre

DOM­BIVLI: An 11-year-old girl had been re­peat­edly raped at a day­care cen­tre in Dom­bivli by the care­taker’s brother.

The ac­cused, Di­pak He­role, 30, was ar­rested on Thurs­day. He­role works in a mall at Thane and used to visit his sis­ter’s day­care cen­tre. He had been com­mit­ting the crime since March 2015.

The girl, a Class 3 stu­dent, was scared as He­role had threat­ened her and so did not tell any­one about it. A po­lice of­fi­cer from Man­pada po­lice sta­tion said, “As soon as the girl lodged the com­plaint, we ar­rested him. Ini­tially, he de­nied com­mit­ting the crime but later con­fessed to his crime. We have sent both the ac­cused and the vic­tim for med­i­cal test.”

The po­lice said the ac­cused’s sis­ter used to look af­ter the chilshe also used to cook for them.

The ac­cused used to go there on the pre­text of meet­ing his sis­ter. Af­ter months of be­ing mo­lested and raped, the girl nar­rated her or­deal to one of her fam­ily mem­bers who lodged a com­plaint.

“We have booked the ac­cused un­der sec­tion 376 (pun­ish­ment for rape), 354 (as­sault or crim­i­nal force to woman with in­tent to out­rage her mod­esty) of the In­dian Pe­nal Code and sev­eral sec­tions of Pre­ven­tion of Chil­dren from Sex­ual Of­fences

THE GIRL, A CLASS 3 STU­DENT, WAS SCARED AS THE AC­CUSED HAD THREAT­ENED HER AND SO DID NOT TELL ANY­ONE ABOUT IT.
