2 hurt in Sion-Pan­vel high­way mishap

NAVI MUM­BAI: A fa­ther-son duo from Matunga was in­jured af­ter an SUV rammed into the car they were trav­el­ling in on Sion-Pan­vel high­way near Vashi on Fri­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, Anup Saha, 50, and his son Me­hul, 18, were trav­el­ling to­wards Pune in their Santro car.

Around 11am as they were cross­ing the Vashi creek bridge, an SUV which was go­ing to­wards Mum­bai hit the divider and rammed into their car on the other side of the road.

“Both Anup and Me­hul suf­fered in­juries. They have been ad­mit­ted

to a hospi­tal in Matunga,” said Su­raj Padvi, po­lice in­spec­tor from Vashi po­lice sta­tion.

Padvi said no one from the Saha fam­ily has filed a com­plaint against the SUV driver. “We called the driver for an en­quiry af­ter the ac­ci­dent and let him go af­ter a few hours. He might have lost con­trol of his ve­hi­cle and ended up hit­ting the divider and then the other car. We may sum­mon him again af­ter we re­ceive a com­plaint against him,” Padvi said.
