2 hurt in Sion-Panvel highway mishap
NAVI MUMBAI: A father-son duo from Matunga was injured after an SUV rammed into the car they were travelling in on Sion-Panvel highway near Vashi on Friday.
According to the police, Anup Saha, 50, and his son Mehul, 18, were travelling towards Pune in their Santro car.
Around 11am as they were crossing the Vashi creek bridge, an SUV which was going towards Mumbai hit the divider and rammed into their car on the other side of the road.
“Both Anup and Mehul suffered injuries. They have been admitted
to a hospital in Matunga,” said Suraj Padvi, police inspector from Vashi police station.
Padvi said no one from the Saha family has filed a complaint against the SUV driver. “We called the driver for an enquiry after the accident and let him go after a few hours. He might have lost control of his vehicle and ended up hitting the divider and then the other car. We may summon him again after we receive a complaint against him,” Padvi said.
