Three pos­ing as cops rob se­nior cit­i­zen of jew­ellery

NAVI MUM­BAI: The Nerul po­lice have reg­is­tered a case af­ter three men, who al­legedly robbed a se­nior cit­i­zen of his gold chain by pos­ing as po­lice­men.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, Hanu­manta Bhan­darkar, 66, a res­i­dent of sec­tor 24 in Juina­gar, was walk­ing along the road near his res­i­dence on Mon­day af­ter­noon. Three men ap­proached him and in­tro­duced them­selves as po­lice­men. “The men started talk­ing to him. At one point, the cul­prits re­moved his gold chain worth Rs46,000 from his neck and fled. It was only then the man re­al­ized that they were fraud­sters,” said a po­lice of­fi­cer from Nerul po­lice sta­tion.

Bhan­darkar then ap­proached the po­lice who reg­is­tered a case un­der sec­tions 420, 180 and 34 of the In­dian Pe­nal Code (IPC).,” said an of­fi­cer.
