The encroachment department of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has appealed to residents to give suggestions on how to make the city encroachment-free.

The suggestion column has been posted on the municipal corporation’s page (https://www. facecroachmentcellNMMC).

The civic body has asked residents to give suggestions on encroachment issues in Navi Mumbai. Residents have one week to post their suggestions.

The aim of the NMMC is to make the city encroachment-free.

Officials from the encroachment department said the decision was taken during a departmental meeting on Tuesday.

It was stated that although residents have social media such as Facebook, toll-free WhatsApp number and the civic body website to post complaints on encroachment, there is no platform where they can provide suggestions.

“Residents are only posting complaints through various social media platforms, but we have not been getting suggestions. Hence, we plan to seek suggestions for a week and compile them,” said Kailash Gaikwad, assistant municipal commissioner, encroachment department of the NMMC.
