192-hour bha­jan ma­hot­sav at Panvel eyes record

NAVI MUM­BAI: The res­i­dents of Panvel have an op­tion of spend­ing some qual­ity time by lis­ten­ing to bha­jans per­formed by artists from dif­fer­ent parts of the state for next five days.

A 192-hour bha­jan ma­hot­sav started on Thurs­day and it will con­tinue till June 10. There will be no break. Ram­seth Thakur Sa­ma­jik Vikas Man­dal has or­gan­ised the event in the au­di­to­rium with the same name.

A to­tal of 276 bha­jan groups from Mum­bai, Thane, Raigad, Rat­na­giri and Sind­hudurg dis­tricts are per­form­ing at the eight-day pro­gramme. “No such pro­gramme was or­ga­nized in Panvel ear­lier,” said a mem­ber of the or­gan­is­ing com­mit­tee.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Limca and Guin­ness book of world records are present at the event which is likely to en­ter the record books, the or­gan­is­ers claimed.
