Places are being identified for temporary shelters and relief camps for people affected by natural disaster. The ward officials have been instructed to ensure adequate supply of food, clothes and medicines for the affected people.
A special ward will be set up in every civic hospital to treat people affected by natural calamities and water-borne diseases.
Mundhe said, “Ward officers have been allocated Rs1 lakh as emergency funds on recurring basis for the entire year, to meet needs of people affected by natural disaster. The DMCs or nodal officers will have the power to spend Rs2 lakh for emergency relief work.” NMMC garden department has started pruning trees before monsoon.
