Places are be­ing iden­ti­fied for tem­po­rary shel­ters and re­lief camps for peo­ple af­fected by nat­u­ral dis­as­ter. The ward of­fi­cials have been in­structed to en­sure ad­e­quate sup­ply of food, clothes and medicines for the af­fected peo­ple.

A spe­cial ward will be set up in ev­ery civic hos­pi­tal to treat peo­ple af­fected by nat­u­ral calami­ties and wa­ter-borne diseases.

Mundhe said, “Ward of­fi­cers have been al­lo­cated Rs1 lakh as emer­gency funds on re­cur­ring ba­sis for the en­tire year, to meet needs of peo­ple af­fected by nat­u­ral dis­as­ter. The DMCs or nodal of­fi­cers will have the power to spend Rs2 lakh for emer­gency re­lief work.” NMMC gar­den de­part­ment has started prun­ing trees be­fore mon­soon.

The re­pair of pump house and a standby gen­er­a­tor in­stal­la­tion is go­ing on.

Wa ter tanks are be­ing cleaned. Re­quired stock of chlo­rine has been main­tained.
