FYJC admissions: 6,000 applications will be re-checked
The applications of more than 6,000 first-year students to junior colleges will be re-checked. The reason: the guidance centres made errors while filling the application forms of five students from outside Mumbai.
While in case of the five students, the marks that were keyed in were 100%, instead of the 60%70% score, a similar error was spotted in a form filled from a cyber café. Education officials, however, said the admission process will not be delayed.
The students learned about the errors when their names topped the FYJC general merit list, which ranks applicants according to their Class 10 scores. The list was released late on Monday evening and the students corrected the mistakes on Wednesday.
