Teenagers held for stealing mobile phones
The Rabale police have arrested a teenaged boy and girl for stealing mobile phones for the past several months.
According to the police, the 16-year-old boy and the 14-yearold girl live in a slum in Rabale. They would roam around in the city and steal mobile phones from houses. The police have recovered 31 stolen mobile phones, including 10 high-end ones from them.
“Our patrolling teams spotted the two roaming around on Monday night and asked them about their addresses. They were unable to give proper replies. Our officers detained them,” said Santosh Katwal, assistant police inspector from Rabale police station. “During interrogation, the two confessed that they had stolen many mobile phones in the past six months. We recovered the stolen phones. They were planning to sell them in Mumbai,” he added.
Another 21-year-old man, who was also involved in the crime, is absconding. The two were sent to a remand home in Mumbai.
