Even after a month of a minor girl went missing from Kopar Khairane, the police have not been able to make any breakthrough in the case.

According to the police, the 17-year-old girl, a class 3 student, lived with her family at Sector 3.

“Around 9 am that day, she told her mother that she was going to school to make some enquiries. The classes of this academic year were yet to start and hence she was not in uniform. She did not return home,” said Vikash Suryavanshi, assistant police inspector from Kopar Khairane police station.

Her parents registered a complaint after a day.

“A case under section 367 (punishment for kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the unidentified culprits. We are taking all possible steps to trace the missing girl, but have not been able to do so. Our investigations are on,” Suryavanshi said.

Meanwhile, the Uran police have made no headway on three girls, including two minors, who went missing from their area around three weeks ago.

NG Majge, police inspector from Uran police station said, “We have formed four teams and sent them to different places searching for the girls. But we don’t have any clue about their whereabouts till now.”
