MLA warns Mundhe of breach of privilege motion in assembly ‘WILL REPLY WHEN I GET THE NOTICE’
Even as the NCP has so far maintained a steadfast silence with respect to actions by municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, many of which have gone against it and just a day after the Shiv Sena extended support to the commissioner’s actions, BJP MLA Manda Mhatre has come out all guns blazing against Mundhe.
Mhatre has threatened Mundhe with breach of privilege motion in the monsoon assembly session next week.
Mhatre is upset over demolition action and notices sent to PAP in the city by NMMC in the past couple of months since Mundhe took charge. Speaking at a press conference at CBD Belapur, Mhatre said, “In the last assembly session, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis had stated that PAP houses will not be touched. He had issued the instructions to all agencies in the city including NMMC, Cidco , MIDC and others.”
She added, “He had clearly said that no action should be taken till the GR on regularisation of the need-based constructions is issued. In the past two months, PAP houses are being demolished. If it is not stopped immediately, we will take to the streets in the assembly session.”
She said, “If wrong action continues to take place without the commissioner’s knowledge, or if it is taken despite him knowing about it, I will table a breach of privilege motion against him in the assembly.”
Slamming the commissioner for his functioning style, Mhatre said, “Elected representatives should be taken into confidence on the developmental plans for the city. A wrong system is presently being implemented.”
Mhatre said a delegation of all-party corporators will meet the chief minister in a couple of days and submit a memorandum to him.
