Cops pro­pose no-park­ing zone on Digha road

The Navi Mum­bai traf­fic depart­ment has de­cided to de­clare a road near Digha ward of­fice as no-park­ing zone.

The NMMC Digha ward of­fice that falls un­der Ra­bale traf­fic depart­ment has a Sai Baba tem­ple next to it. The road next to it is 7m wide.

Ac­cord­ing to deputy com­mis­sioner of po­lice (traf­fic) Arvind Salve, “A large num­ber of devotees who come there and those who come to the ward of­fice for work of­ten hap­haz­ardly park their ve­hi­cles on one side of Khokad pond. This re­sults in reg­u­lar traf­fic snarls in the area.”

He added, “The park­ing in the area causes prob­lems for schoolchil­dren and lo­cal res­i­dents. Mo­torists us­ing the road to head to­wards Bindu Mad­hav Na­gar too face traf­fic snarls. The traf­fic depart­ment had re­ceived a num­ber of com­plaints.”
