Cops propose no-parking zone on Digha road
The Navi Mumbai traffic department has decided to declare a road near Digha ward office as no-parking zone.
The NMMC Digha ward office that falls under Rabale traffic department has a Sai Baba temple next to it. The road next to it is 7m wide.
According to deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Arvind Salve, “A large number of devotees who come there and those who come to the ward office for work often haphazardly park their vehicles on one side of Khokad pond. This results in regular traffic snarls in the area.”
He added, “The parking in the area causes problems for schoolchildren and local residents. Motorists using the road to head towards Bindu Madhav Nagar too face traffic snarls. The traffic department had received a number of complaints.”
