No water for eight hours today as Morbe dam shuts supply
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) will be taking up the work of servicing a 22KV / 33.3KV panel and pump in the Bhokarpada water filtration plant on Thursday, July 21.
The work will result in the water supply from Morbe dam being stopped for eight hours, from 10am to 6pm.
“Owing to the shutdown, the nodes of Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli and Airoli areas will not get any water supply during these hours. This excludes the areas in the node that get water directly from MIDC,” said an NMMC official.
“The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) areas of Kamothe node, which is supplied water from the Morbe dam, too, will not get water during this time.”
“The residents need to note that water will be restored after these hours with low pressure,” said the officials.
The water department of NMMC has appealed to the residents to use water judiciously during these hours and cooperate with NMMC.
