MSRTC bus rams into tanker, nine injured
Nine people were injured after a MSRTC bus rammed into a petroleum tanker at Kapurbawdi in Thane on Thursday.
The injured passengers were taken to Thane civil hospital.
Three were admitted to the hospital while others were discharged after first-aid treatment.
The MSRTC ( Maharastra State Road Transport Corporation) bus was going to Thane from Jawahar.
The driver of the bus, ,35, was arrested and was booked under relevant sections. He is resident of Thane district.
Fifteen passengers were in bus.
A police constable from Kapurbawdi police station said: “The bus driver said he applied brakes but it was too late. He was not drunk.”
“During investigation, it was found that the tanker ahead applied brake all of sudden to avoid dashing into a car. The bus driver too braked suddenly. We are taking the statement of the driver and we will booked him under relevant sections. Nine passengers have been injured,” said the police.
